Dear Parents/Guardians:
Greetings from your new Lunch Program Committee! The Home and School Association organizes a number of noon programs for our children. Due to high demand for these programs, registration is limited and will be done on a draw basis.
Please note that no child will be refused because of inability to pay. Please contact one of the program coordinators listed below for details.
Due to the short lunch period and limited classroom space, the children who attend primary and grade one in the Annex will be offered programs in the Annex Building. Please apply only for those programs indicated Annex in the program listings.
Students taking part in the activities described on the following page are expected to follow the same school guidelines for behavior as in regular classes. Please bring your lunch and gym clothes where necessary.
The registration and release form are included in this email. Please note that the release form will remain in effect for the entire 2011/2012 school year. Please print and complete both forms and send them with payment in a sealed envelope to the attention of Lunch Programs. Hard copies of these forms are also available in the main office.
Please note that payments are made directly to instructors. For payment information (amount and payee) please see the payment schedule. Please send a separate cheque for each program registration (one cheque per child per program). Registration must be received by Monday, October 24, 2011. Please note that these programs will begin the week of October 31, 2011.
Do not hesitate to contact one of the program coordinators below if you have questions. Thank you!
Sincerely,

Lunch Programs 2011-2012 School Year Release Form
Dear Parents:
The Nova Scotia School Board Association has suggested that Ecole LeMarchant-St. Thomas Home & School Association distribute risk awareness notices for all those participating in lunch time/after school programs. Please read and understand the forms and return them with the registration form. Release forms must be signed in order for your child to participate in these programs.
The Ecole LeMarchant-St. Thomas Home & School Association has arranged for lunch time and after school programs to be held from September to December. Obviously participation in any activity has inherent risk and some of these activities due to their nature may have more elements of risk than others.
The form must be read and signed by every student age 12 or older or by a parent/guardian of the participating student
ELEMENTS OF RISK
Educational activity programs, such as described above, involve certain elements of risk. Accidents may occur while participating in or travelling to and from such activities. These accidents may cause injury and can occur without fault on the part of the School Board, its employees, agents or the facility where the activity or event is taking place. By choosing to participate in the activity, the student and/or his/her parent/guardian assumes the risk associated with the activity.
The Nova Scotia School Board Association has a program covering student insurance. The Gold Plan is available if you would like to add to your coverage. We strongly urge parents/guardians to review this policy. The chance that an accident will occur will be reduced by following instructions and guidance provided, as well as using appropriate protective equipment needed for the activity noted.
PERMISSION RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION
I/We have read the above and recognize that a potential for injury or property damage exists by allowing
__________________________________________________
to participate/attend. In consideration of the School Board allowing students to participate in the activity described above, I/We agree to release and hold harmless the School Board, the School, it employees, volunteers, agents, servants, representatives, heirs, executors and administrators from actions, causes of action, claims, suits and demands of whatever nature. I/We understand that this release applies to any injury, loss or damages sustained while participating in or being transported to or from said activity.
