On Wednesday, March 3oth the following letter was sent to all parents / guardians of students at LMST:

Dear Parents / Guardians,

With the last few days of March upon us, I feel it is timely to provide you with an update on plans to relocate students across the street to the former Beaufort building in September. Between now and the end of the school year, there will be several things that will happen, including:

  • a tender document for renovations to the building issued in early April;
  • Universite Sainte-Anne vacating the premises by the end of April; and
  • renovations to the building to accommodate elementary programming beginning in May.

Renovations will be completed over the summer prior to the students and staff returning to the school. I want to thank the Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development for agreeing to fund these renovations.

I am also pleased that the Minister is funding the installation of a portable classroom. The portable will be used to support the music and band programs which will allow physical education to be offered onsite rather than having to transport students to another facility.

I want to thank both the school’s administration and the School Advisory Council for working together on transition plans. If you have any questions, I would encourage you to contact the school and speak with one of the administrators. They will be able to answer any of your questions or direct you to the appropriate contact at the board for a response.

I hope everyone is having a great school year and I look forward to sharing more exciting news regarding the new school project as it becomes known.

Elwin LeRoux, Superintendent
