Resource Program at LMSTS

  Special Education and Services

The needs of most children who require additional support are met in the regular classroom, where a variety of strategies, teaching methods, and materials are used, along with support from school based personnel such as the  Resource teacher, volunteers, etc.

The following personnel: psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, and behavioural specialists are available, upon request through the School Planning Team, to provide assessment and strategies to support students with exceptional needs . Whenever planning supports, teachers and/or the program planning team will promote appropriate independence by providing supports only as necessary for the student.

  LMSTS Resource Staff

We currently have two 50% resource teachers who work collaboratively with each other, the classroom teachers, parents and administration to meet the needs of our students.  They may work with students one-on-one or in small groups in one of our two resource rooms. They may also work with the classroom teacher to provide support within the classroom setting. Parents/guardians  will always be informed if resource support is required.
